Before talk about sweet potatoes, I must tell you about the book Gwyneth Paltrow “My Father’s Daughter”, which I find poorly translated in French by “My recipes for my family and friends.” You lose all sense of the book. Gwyneth tells her path “culinary”, through love for cooking that he sent his father. Yes, it was Mr. Paltrow in the kitchen, the king of pancakes seems. She explains why she went through the macrobiotic diet from cancer of his father, and how she came back to a healthy gourmet cuisine but with the arrival of her children.
This book surprised me a lot. I can already hear the gossips say that it is not she who has the book, blah blah blah. I imagine it has not spent a year of her life star behind the stove, she herself says in his book have received help and support from Julia Turshen. But even so, this book was a very pleasant surprise for me. I originally bought for its beautiful design, photos that exude happiness and freshness. And then there are all these little stories behind each recipe, it’s very interesting (and sometimes very touching!). All this made me want to try the recipes, i make a dozen! (While some books for chefs, I made just 1 or 2, if at all!) For me Gwyneth Paltrow has succeeded: send us good family and simple recipes. Who would have thought?
In the book there is a recipe for roasted winter vegetables: sweet potatoes, parsnips and carrots, maple syrup and Dijon mustard. I’m not a fan of parsnips, so I stayed on sweetpotato (by cons, as I do not like celery, but you should know that roasted in the oven, it is super good! I owe this discovery Rachel Khoo I’ll talk you soon). Combine maple syrup with roasted vegetables, it’s divine! (Good Gwyneth managed to convert me maple syrup in almost every dish: muesli to roast pork …) So I made this recipe and I really enjoyed it. And then a few months ago, we went to eat at Twenty peas, a very nice place where you can have tea and lunch. I discovered the sweet potato roasted cumin salt with whipped chive, delicious. i try this at home with maple syrup! And for the adventurous, a pinch of cinnamon, it is better ;) And then as now, everyone knows my love for cheese, I obviously added the ricotta with cream. With the chicken recipe of Miss Paltrow is certainly an excellent meal for the cold day. Ahhh … I’d forgotten the little more: add gingerbread grilled crouton is too good!

J’adore la patate douce mais je n’avais jamais pensé à l’utiliser de cette façon là… Visuellement cela ressemble presque à des frites, voila qui pourrait plaire à mes loulous…
Les photos sont comme toujours à tomber !
Bonne soirée
